After waiting almost five years for a new kitchen (we did the work ourselves), I’m finally settling in to a routine of cooking and baking. I’ve discovered a couple of handy kitchen hacks that I hope you will find helpful.
Flour/Sugar Quickie: I keep two mason jars in my pantry – one filled with flour and the other with sugar. Whenever a recipe calls for 2 T or 1 t of either flour or sugar, it is way easier to grab the mason jars and quickly measure the needed amount rather than having to take the whole cannister out of the pantry. Super easy and they don’t take much space in the pantry.

Spice Storage: I didn’t want to take up valuable drawer space for my spices for a couple of years ago I came across these containers from Sterlite that were just perfect. I have two rectangular ones for bottled spices and one squarish one for spice packets. I used a label printer to label the top of the tall bottles and for the smaller ones, they just lay on their sides. The spice packets fit nicely in the square container and I can easily flip through them to find the one I need.

In the future, I’ll post about the kitchen remodel project – what an adventure that was!
